Sloan's Lake, Denver
Sloan’s Lake is a favorite Denver park with skyline views to the east and mountain views to the west for sunsets. Perfect for picnics and paddle boarding also. No elevation gain for a relaxing evening walk and awesome sunset views.
Green Mountain, Lakewood
Miles of trails offer stunning city and mountain views. For a quick sunset spot, head to the overlook near the main lot (pinned here). A popular park with plenty of hikers and mountain bikers.
City Park, Denver
The steps behind the Denver Museum of Nature & Science offer the park’s best view—a stunning panorama of the Denver skyline backed by mountains. One of the top spots within the city to catch the sunset. Flat and easy to walk around.
Mount Falcon, Morrison
Park at the west trailhead for a short hike to Mt. Falcon’s summit and a scenic gazebo—perfect for sunset. Whether you take the quick and easy half mile route or explore farther, you’ll be rewarded with epic west-facing mountain views.
Independence Mountain, Evergreen
A 750-foot climb on this trail rewards you with panoramic mountain sunsets. Enjoy the golden hour as you hike down when the sky lights up above the evergreen trees.
Standley Lake, Westminster
A beautiful sunset spot, especially from the south and east sides of the lake, where mountain views and waters reflect the evening sky. A small beach offers the perfect setting for a sunset picnic. This area is mostly flat and an easy walk.
Mt. Gailbrath Loop, Golden
Multiple trails here offer moderate elevation gains and stunning views. At sunset, golden hour lights up the sky in deep reds, making you feel like you’re on another planet.
Belmar Park, Lakewood
A peaceful park in near Denver with live music on Wednesdays in June and July. For sunset views, head to a higher spot like the southeast corner towards Kentucky Ave. The park also features historic buildings, adding to a unique charm.
Genesee Mountain, Golden
One of the largest parks only about 30 minutes from Denver, a top spot to see the sun set behind the mountains. Plenty of trails with moderate elevation gain, but if you want an easy sunset view you can also drive to the top of the park.
